Video Assignments
Creating and submitting your recorded oral presentation and script
There are four steps:
1. Create your video
2. Upload your video to your Echo360 library
3. Submit your Echo360 video to the LEO assignment drop box A.
4. Submit your group contract to the LEO Turnitin drop box B.
It is vital you complete all four steps and check your submission for the presence of an audio and visual component. If your marker contacts you because your submission cannot be viewed, you will have 24 hours to resubmit correctly and late penalties may apply. If you do not correctly submit to the LEO assignment drop box, your work cannot be viewed by your marker, and you will receive a mark of zero.
1. Create your video
Length of recording
- Recorded oral presentations are to be 10 minutes (+/- 10%) long; those exceeding 11 minutes in length will not be listened to after this point. No marks will be awarded for content beyond this point.
- Your recording MUST be understandable to your marker. Do NOT speed up the audio component of your recording to fit within the allocated time.
- You do NOT need to discuss your reference list in your recorded oral presentation. However, we do ask that you leave it on the screen long enough so your marker can hit pause and read it properly.
Your oral presentation MUST be submitted as an Echo360 video file
- Your oral presentation requires both a video and audio component.
- The presentation needs to be your group’s own original work; you cannot include YouTube clips or other videos as part of your presentation.
- Your video presentation can be created in any number of ways (e.g. narrated PowerPoint, or by using screen recording software like Zoom, or Echo360 Universal Capture).
How do I switch my Zoom account to myacu.zoom.us?
- Once you have created a VIDEO file, you must upload it to your Echo360 library (instructions below)
2 & 3 Upload your video to Echo360 and submit your Echo360 video to the LEO assignment drop box

- How to submit a video from your Echo360 library to the assignment drop box.
here
Important to note
- If you have created a video using Echo360 Universal Capture, your video will already be available in your Echo360 library.
- If you recorded a narrated PowerPoint presentation, you MUST convert to a video file before uploading to Echo360. You will not be able to successfully submit to the LEO drop box if you upload a PowerPoint file (e.g. .pptx)
- You can practice the technical requirements ahead of time. A practice submission drop box has been supplied; use it to trial uploading a video file to your Echo360 library and then submitting this file into the practice submission drop box.
- Do NOT leave submission until the last minute. Upload times may be upwards of 45 minutes when many students are trying to upload to Echo360 and the LEO assignment drop box. Leaving your upload to the last minute is not considered grounds for special consideration to avoid a late penalty.
Check your submission in the LEO assignment drop box
- You should not be uploading a 'link'.
- If you have submitted correctly, your submission will look something like the image below.
- If your video does not look like the below image, an error has occurred. It is your responsibility to correct the error and resubmit correctly.
Echo360 login issues?
- If you are already logged into LEO, you can go directly to Echo360 via a lecture recordings link.
- If you are not logged into LEO and/or Echo360, you will need to use the following credentials to log in:
- Student email (must be Name.Name@myacu.edu.au)
- Student number and password as login.
- Some students may experience issues with their Echo360 access due to a browser issue (this may also affect access to lecture recordings). Updates to some browsers have changed settings that are causing this problem and this affects about 2% of users.
- If this is you, updating your browser or browser settings is required. This link will guide you to amend your browser settings to the required configuration.
Technical support
- Linked in Learning is the University’s online subscription library that teaches the latest software tools and skills.
- IT support (e.g. for Echo360) can be accessed via Ask ACU.
4. Upload your script/group contract
- You must upload a script for your oral presentation to the Turnitin drop box labelled Assessment one Drop box B below.
- Only one submission per group is needed
- Please use the template provided and complete the group contract attached to this.
- The script does not need to be referenced
- Name the file with your student number and topic e.g. S00123456_Myelin
- You MUST submit your work as a Word document (.doc or .docx extension). Do NOT submit a .PAGES document - it will not open and cannot be viewed by staff. If you upload a different file type and your marker cannot open it, your work will not be considered 'submitted'. Do NOT hand-write and scan the document. Do not save any text as images.
- It is your responsibility to check that your upload has been successful. If you upload a blank file, or a file that we are unable to read, your submission will not be considered 'submitted'.
- You will be able to upload to the Turnitin link multiple times before the submission date (if you wish). We encourage you to upload a 'practice submission' before the due date so that you can check that all content you uploaded can be seen in Turnitin.
- Be aware that, if you have submitted a file prior to the due date/time, you will NOT be able to re-upload another document after the due date/time.
- You can find further information on how to submit to Turnitin via this link.
