I worked on one of these mills for a year back in the 1980's they are an excellent design. Safe for a saw mill as the blades spin away from you so if you get a sap ring and the saw picks and throws a spear of wood it's throwing it away from you. Sharping the saw teeth is quick and easy there are only 6 teeth on each blade and they are quick to remove and sharpen with a small hand grinder. There is a cam locking system that holds the tooth in the blade which is a simple and very reliable design. The saw I worked on was mounted on a custom built hot dipped frame that had a set of duel axle wheels that bolted on under the frame which turned it into a mobile mill that we towed behind a short wheel base Series II Landover we would work all week camping out on farms cutting timber for house lots, cattle yards, fences, etc. I have seen a few portable mills and this is the best design by far. I am glad they are still making them. They were designed to be totally portable. So you could fly one in on a chopper and assemble in in the forest. You can pack them in on a mule or even carry them by hand if you have to . I have seen film of 4 people carrying the engine on poles.
