According to the Nvu home page
NVU 1.0, released in June 2005, is the last official release that you will find at most download sites, however, it isn't the newest or best version of the Nvu software.
KompoZer is designed to be extremely easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create an attractive, professional-looking web site without needing to know HTML or web coding.

There are some things that Nvu does better than KompoZer. For example its code view uses colour to highlight <html> codes and it has line numbes in code view. Both of these features are very useful.

There are other things that KompoZer does that are better than Nvu
Built in spelling checker (very handy for people with dyslexia)
Site Manager
KompoZer's site manager is much better than the Nvu one
