Copy2Clip enables you to copy file names to clipboard from Windows Explorer, by simply selecting one or more files, and selecting Copy2Clip from the right click menu.
Copy2Clip can copy the file names in a variety of different patterns, using the full name with path, just the name, file names with sizes and more.
The copied names can also be sorted by size or time, and you can create your own patterns using the provided variables.
Copy2Clip can be very useful for creating batch files or to quickly convert file information into specific formats.

ShellRun shows a file when your CD or DVD is inserted into a Windows computer.
When your CD is inserted, the freeware version shows a popup window briefly (example top right) as it displays your chosen file. ShellRun can be used with any file type, eg web page, PDF file, Word document or MP3 track.http://www.phdcc.com/shellrun/index.html
winzip81.exe Windows Ziper & Unziper see Pkz204g.exe for MS-DOS Ziper/Unziper
Used to create or extract .ZIP files. Winzip takes a group of files and compress them into a single .ZIPed version,Top
this is very useful when submitting assignments that contain many individual small files. Also useful if you are trying to move large files with floppy disks, winzip will automatically use multiple floppy disks if necessary. This is very useful if you have a large file you want to move via floppy disks from one computer to another.

An MS-DOS zip/unzip program this program performs the same functions as Winzip 8.1Top
Unless you have a particular reason to use a DOS version then for general use I recommend
Winzip 8.1

This is a small filter that removes un-necessary code from web pagesTop
created using MS Word 2000. This program will only install if you have
Office 2000 installed on your computer.I don't recommend using word to make web pages but if you do then I recommend that you
use this filter to clean up the HTML code that Word produces. As an example of the type of file size saving you can expect this filter reduced a 200KB web page that I had created using MS Word down to 60KB.

This means that your files will download faster and take up less space on the WWW and on your J:\ drive.
Active File Compare 2.0 beta 1
A fantastic tool that also allows you to edit one or both files on the fly.
Active File Compare is an advanced utility for the comparison and synchronization of any text files in visual mode. Use this tool to compare two versions of the same file or to correct the source code versions.
Features:
NoteTab is a freeware/shareware text editor for Windows. It was developed by Eric Fookes of Fookes Software, Charmey (Gruyère), Switzerland. The program's name refers to the fact that it was apparently one of the earliest text-editors capable of editing several open documents on different tabs (tabbed document interface). The first version of NoteTab, known as Mini NoteTab, was launched in 1995; the current version is 5.0, introduced in 2006.
NoteTab is one of the programs that I use every day.
It is the most versatile and powerful text editor that I have ever used.
I also use TextPad but not as often.
If you edit HTML or need to search (and replace) files on your disk for text strings then this program is well worth a look. A 30-day trial version is available from the home page.
NoteTab also has a powerful Clip language that can use Regular Expressions and makes automating many tasks easy. See my page on NoteTab Clips for more details.
Very Nice Text Editor
You are welcome to download a copy of TextPad for evaluation, or to
upgrade an earlier release. There is no charge for the download, but
you must pay for the software if you decide to keep it. A single user
license costs only $27 US dollars.
Computers can be used to create some amazing and often beautiful images.Top
For those of you who have noticed the fractals that I put on my door many of those were created using Ultra Fractal.

frhed v1.1 BETA 1 (628 KByte)
This is the new, GNU General Public License'd release of frhed which incorporates improvements and new features from the versions that several other programmers have been working on. New features include a toolbar, improved help, better registry handling, hard disk sector read access for most Windows releases (Win95 and WinNT should definitely work, drop us a note if you encounter problems. Win98 might not work), cryptography support for encoding and decoding with algorithms such as DES, and lots of other improvements. Frhed uses an installation setup program now (the free Nullsoft "SuperPIMP" system), so the downloadable .zip file contains a .exe. If you find bugs or encounter problems, please notify me.
A nice utility from David Taylor, Edinburgh. Screen shot of ShowMan at work Program to help recover disk space. Gives pie-chart view of disk usage, including unused space, with the ability to drill down into folders. Shows actual or nominal space occupied. Knows about the effects of cluster sizes. If you want a piechart of your FTP space on an ISP, look at David's FTPpie utility. |
